Carrie Mikkonen serves as a Business Advisor for Anoka County, partnering with entrepreneurially minded individuals and supporting the small business community. She knows firsthand the unique challenges owners face during each stage of the business lifecycle: from an idea to startup, expansion, growth, and maturity.  

Carrie’s interest in business started in high school when she was part of the DECA program, which prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality, and management. This led her to pursue a B.A. in Business, with an emphasis on Organizational Leadership, at Bethel University and a career in business operations, leadership, ownership, and consulting.   

In her free time, Carrie enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and adventuring, watching her children play sports, and being in the great outdoors. Having lived in the area for 25 years, she loves what it has to offer and believes it’s a great place to live, work, and own a business.
