Aru Sasikumar serves as the Director of Social Justice at ACER, where she has been a valued member of the ACER family for over five years. With a career rooted in the nonprofit sector, Aru brings a profound understanding of the importance of community-centered programming and policy making. She is a strong advocate for reimagining systems through an equity lens.
Holding a Master’s degree in Public Health from the University of Minnesota, Aru approaches social challenges holistically, considering the broad spectrum of social determinants that impact communities. Her passion for building community leadership is at the core of her work, guided by her belief that the most effective solutions emerge when community leaders drive the conversation.In her role at ACER, she has championed efforts in organizing local housing complexes, advocating for housing justice with local authorities, and supporting community-led policy-making initiatives.
